Miller ready for Baggies fight West Bromwich Albion striker Ishmael Miller is determined to continue to be a key figure for the Baggies, even if boss Tony Mowbray brings in reinforcements in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old has only scored twice this season and accepts that he faces a fight to retain his place in the starting eleven. He told the Express & Star: "If you look at any team or squad in the Premier League, they're all looking to strengthen. "If there's someone who can make us better and stronger then we should be looking to bring him in. "The more players we have the more competition it will provide and that will be better for all of us. It will give us a better chance of staying up. "But obviously you want to play and be in the manager's thoughts and I feel I am and I know I need to play as well as I can so I stay there." Miller moved to The Hawthorns, initially on loan, in the summer of 2007 and has netted 18 goals in 52 appearances for the Midlands club. |
