Baggies sweat on Morrison West Bromwich Albion face a nervous wait to discover the extent of the knee injury sustained by midfielder James Morrison in the 3-0 defeat by Chelsea. The 22-year-old has been ruled out of Scotland's high-profile friendly with Argentina this week and is returning to The Hawthorns for further assessment of the problem. Baggies boss Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "James has tweaked his medial knee ligament. Hopefully, it's not too bad. "These injuries come in various grades and we're not too sure how bad it is at the moment. "The worst-case scenario with this injury is six or seven weeks, but the best-case scenario is James has only jarred his knee and it will settle down in a few days. "We'll know more when he's back from Scotland. We'll do our own diagnosis on him. "Sometimes, it's very difficult to assess an injury straight after a game due to the bruising and tenderness of it. Fingers crossed it's not too bad." |
