Ghost Goal Ref Attwell Returns

'Ghost goal' referee Stuart Attwell will officiate this weekend's Premier League clash between Portsmouth and Hull City at Fratton Park.

The 25-year-old ref is the youngest in the Premier League, having been promoted at the start of this season.

However, it was in a Championship game in September that he shot to fame.

In a match between Watford and Reading, Attwell, under the advice of his linesman, awarded the Royals a goal when in actual fact the ball had gone wide.

He has since officiated a League 2 game and two other Championship matches, but this will be his first Premier League tie since Middlesbrough's 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth on September 21st.

Elsewhere, Howard Webb will referee Tottenham's game at home to Blackburn, while Manchester United's trip to Aston Villa will be overseen by Chris Foy.

This weekend's list of referees in full:
Aston Villa v Manchester United - Chris Foy
Chelsea v Newcastle United - Phil Dowd
Liverpool v Fulham - Mark Halsey
Manchester City v Arsenal - Alan Wiley
Middlesbrough v Bolton Wanderers - Martin Atkinson
Portsmouth v Hull City - Stuart Attwell
