Rovers close in on Reginiussen

Reports suggest Blackburn Rovers will seal the capture of Norway international Tore Reginiussen in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old is currently playing for Tromso but is set to tie up a deal with Paul Ince's struggling side this weekend.

Birmingham City have also been linked with Reginiussen but Rovers hope that their links with Tromso - they signed Morten Gamst Pedersen from the Norwegian club four years ago - will give them the edge in the battle to secure his services.

It is believed Reginussen, who still has a year left on his current Tromso contract, will cost Rovers in the region of £2million.

Tromso's director, Tom Bendiksen, said: "We are going to arrange the possibility for a transfer for Tore, and it might as well be to Blackburn. We have a nice and positive relationship to that club."

Director of football Morten Kaemer, added: "We are pleased that Tromso Football club have players who are considered attractive to big, European clubs."
