Robbo ready for Spurs return

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson has admitted it will be a strange feeling to return to former club Tottenham Hotspur with Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Robinson moved to Ewood Park in a £3.5million deal in the summer after being marginalised at the north London club.

The former England number one was dropped at regular intervals by former Spurs boss Juande Ramos last season, before being given the opportunity to resurrect his career with Blackburn.

Robinson joined Spurs from Leeds United in 2004 and has never faced one of his former clubs before.

"It will be a special day for me," he told Blackburn's official website.

"It will be the first time for me going back to an old club, because when I left Leeds their plight has obviously meant that they've gone far away from the Premier League now, so I never had the chance to go back there.

"So I'm really looking forward to going back to Spurs on Sunday.

"I had four years there, three-and-a-half of which were probably the happiest of my football career so far.

"It was a difficult time towards the end of my stay, as people make decisions in football which are out of your control, but I have fond memories and was very pleased to win something and give something back to the fans before I left."
