Wenger denies Walcott fear

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he has no long-term fears over Theo Walcott's fitness despite the forward's latest shoulder problem.

The 19-year-old England star is facing three months on the sidelines following surgery on a dislocated shoulder picked up while away on international duty this week.

Walcott has already been sidelined this season due to a problem with his other shoulder, but Wenger has denied reports that a hereditary problem threatens to undermine his career.

"There is no (long-term) concern about that," he said.

"Once the surgery is done and it is solid, there is no concern at all for the future of Theo Walcott. Not at all."

Meanwhile, Wenger has revealed that Eduardo Da Silva will return to training next week following the horrific injury he suffered nine months ago.

The Croatia international has been out of action since breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle during a Premier League game at Birmingham City on February 23.

Eduardo's career was initially thought to be in doubt, but the 25-year-old forward is now on the verge of resuming full training with his team-mates.

"Eduardo is doing very well and is one week away from joining in training," added Wenger.
